aspenhome® announced that Ted Raiman has joined their corporate family as the new Executive Vice President of Supply Chain Management and Logistics. In addition, James Chase is joining aspenhome as Director of U.S. Logistics & Distribution, a newly created position. Raiman comes to aspenhome with over 15 successful years of senior executive level experience in Global Supply Chain Management with consumer durable goods. Raiman talks about this new position, “aspenhome is a leader in the furniture industry and I’m excited to join an organization that is striving for excellence in logistics and setting new principles for doing business in this industry.” “Implementing a world class logistics process program requires world class talent,” states Bill Colegrove, general manager and CEO of aspenhome. “These newly created positions are another major step towards our ongoing commitment to meet and exceed our retailers’ expectations. We are thrilled to have these men on our team. Their experience in logistics and building global supply chain teams throughout the world will greatly expand our future capabilities.” At aspenhome, Raiman will begin the supply chain process by working in collaboration with the designers on the conceptual designs to find the best sources and raw materials to make the products at the right price and as efficiently as possible. On the logistics side, Raiman and Chase will direct the warehousing and distribution of the products as well as negotiating with the freight carriers and companies on both inbound container transportation and outbound delivery to the retailers. Or as Raiman puts it, “from start to finish, we will be involved with every step of the process to provide a better thoughtfully designed product for our customers at a better value.” Raiman’s expertise and future direction will help keep freight costs competitive, get quality product to customers quicker, and help keep communications between aspenhome and their customers more timely and precise. Raiman believes if manufacturers and importers are not aggressive in pursuing the best combination of high quality products with low cost factors of production combined with efficient distribution channels then they will quickly be out of business. “aspenhome is totally committed to best practices throughout its supply chain to maintain and build their position as an industry leader. That’s what attracted me to their organization,” says Raiman. “We will strive for excellence and seek production in whatever area of the world is most prudent but to do that we must have a significant on-going research and planning assignment to find those feasible combinations. My position is key to starting, maintaining and completing a very important role. Delivering our product as expected.” Raiman has a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Appalachian State and a Bachelor’s Degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. James was most recently the Senior Director of Logistics at Hooker, formerly responsible for multiple distribution facilities and holds a M.S. Degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. aspenhome has evolved over the past 30 years from a small family owned home entertainment business based in Phoenix to a full line furniture company specializing in thoughtfully designed innovative products for the way people work, play and relax at home.
