World Market Center Las Vegas announced the opening of the Design Salon that will feature over 50 showrooms and be open to the public starting March 25th. Design Salon will offer complimentary consultations by professionals and allow the general public unprecedented access to Las Vegas Design Center’s home furnishings showrooms. The new concept will serve as a conduit between consumers and Las Vegas Design Center. Randy Wells, Vice President of Las Vegas Design Center, said the Design Salon is the product of a partnership between Las Vegas Design Center and The American Society of Interior Designers’ (ASID) California Central/Nevada chapter. ASID is the leading industry association for design trade professionals. “Through the Design Salon, consumers have the opportunity to learn about the value and accessibility of exceptional design and purchase unique, often custom or configurable furnishings with the benefit of a consultation from an accredited ASID designer,” said Wells. He added that through the Design Salon, consumers will have at their fingertips the same high quality, exclusive home furnishings as industry insiders, while also benefiting from the design know-how of ASID professionals. Whether consumers are searching for a single piece for their home or undertaking an entire redesign, the Design Salon is at their service. “We have developed a new business model that creates value, not only for consumers, but for our showrooms and the design community as well,” Wells added. Design Salon services will run 50 weeks a year and will be available every week except during the bi-annual Las Vegas Market, which is a trade show open exclusively to wholesalers, retail buyers and designers in the home furnishings industry. The Design Salon will also be the exclusive Nevada office of ASID and will be located in a 1,200-square-foot boutique space on the first floor of the Las Vegas Design Center (495 S. Grand Central Parkway). Bobbie Jo Kinsey, president elect of the California Central/Nevada chapter of ASID and president of Kinsey Design Group, said the space will also serve as a gathering place, networking hub and educational resource for designers. “This new office in Las Vegas’ revitalized downtown business district will provide ASID designers and students with increased accessibility and better educational opportunities,” Kinsey says. “We’re very much looking forward to the consumer experience component.” Whether it’s a singular purchase or an entire home interior, consumers will be able to work directly with ASID professionals who will assist, consult and help tailor the project to their specific needs. The designer makes the sale possible by acting as a conduit between the consumer and the Design Center showroom. “All at prices more affordable than would be paid in a traditional retail store,” Kinsey said. Located within Las Vegas Design Center, the Design Salon will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be staffed by ASID members.
