The non-profit Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) “THE FUTURE OF SLEEP” announced that it is offering expanded services to its retailer and manufacturing members in the form of a powerful retail mattress and bedding store locator for visitors to the association website, www.SleepInformation.org. Reaching Out to Retail Stores “In this difficult economic period, we are particularly pleased to help mattress/ bedding retailers by offering our retail members this new, comprehensive store locator search engine.” said Dale T. Read, President, Specialty Sleep Association. We are excited to offer retailers the benefit of the MattressFinder.net platform which highlights over 18,000 bedding retailers nationwide. This system is the most in-depth store locator in the U.S., far more comprehensive than the locators offered by individual mattress manufacturers or any other association.” Read explained that the MattressFinder.net system is a dedicated, independent, mattress searchable store locator that does not directly sell any products but offers consumers local store locations for shopping. Consumers search www.SleepInformation.org, and are directed to a “Find a Store Near You” button at the top of the website. This button directs consumers first to SSA member stores through the Member Retail Store Locator. For consumers searching in a non-member store market, the locator defaults to the www.MattressFinder.net database by entering zip code or city and state. All search results display a Google™ map link to provide instant directions to located mattress store. Jay Begley of Somerville, MA-based Beware Of The Dog Design, who is the webmaster for both www.sleepinformation.org and www.MattressFinder.net, continuously updates and improves both the software platform functionality and the store database. Over the past several months, the SSA has succeeded in attracting key new manufacturing members to its group, such as Sealy, 1-800-Mattress, TempurPedic, Leggett & Platt, Englander, Natura World, Hollandia, I-Care Sleep Products, Lilly Management, Comfortaire, and Latex International, among others. Founded in 1995, the Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) is a national not-for-profit advocacy and education association of retailers, manufacturers and suppliers who develop, manufacture, market and sell innovative, new technology mattress and bedding products including viscous-elastic memory foam, latex rubber, air, flotation, gel, adjustable, futons and convertible beds, (green) natural, all-natural and organic beds made from soy, bamboo, wool, 100% cotton as well as bed frames, pillows, sheets, comforters, duvets, body pillows, fabric guards and more.
