The Top Floor of the Suites at Market Square will once again be home to the AMAZED trend center at the upcoming Fall High Point Market, October 20-26, 2008. Organized in the form of a labyrinth of “rooms”, AMAZED is back with a completely new installation of inspiring ideas and trends impacting the home furnishings industry. This innovative display of some of the hottest colors, coolest products and out-of-the-box creative displays is sure to inspire designers, retailers, and manufacturers. Visitors will learn about the shifting values and cultural changes that are altering the way people furnish the space in which they live. AMAZED debuted last market to rave reviews including the following comments left in the “Guest Book” within the trend center: “I have been coming to market for 22 years, this is the best thing ever! Thank you for the inspiration and creativity.” “This is the most exciting thing I have seen all day.” “All I can say is WOW!” This market’s AMAZED room themes include: Open Door Policy, Minimize Me, Fabric Car Wash, Trash to Treasure, Your Own Backyard, Speak to Me, Meconomy, Plugged-in, and Nesting. This journey through visual and tactile experiences demonstrates the influences of fashion, food, globalization, localization, economic challenges, and technology on all of our lives. “Rather than showcasing existing product that can be seen elsewhere at Market, our idea is to create a display that communicates to the media, retail buyers, manufacturers, and designers important trends that will influence the way people furnish their homes,” said Karen Olson, vice president of marketing for Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. “In today’s complex world of globally-connected consumers, we can all benefit from better insight into the psyche of our customers, and AMAZED will shed light on that.” Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. called upon the creativity and experience of local designer, Susan Johnson Smith to assist in implementing this year’s installation of AMAZED, which is open throughout market in space 1-432 on the 1st (top) floor of the Suites at Market Square. There will be receptions every afternoon from 4:30 – 6:00 pm featuring beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres. About Market Square and Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc.
