Mealey’s Furniture & Mattress, the family-run group of stores in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, famous for its “Same Day, Every Day” delivery service, announced that it will open its newest and largest store on Tuesday, July 1st, in Warminster, PA. The new store, located in the CenterPoint Shopping Center at the intersection of Street and York Roads, will feature 84,000 square feet of furnishings, all on one level, making it more than 25 percent larger than any other Mealey’s store. It has taken nearly a year to design and construct. A brand-new “store within a store” concept will offer a vast selection of mattresses, focusing on a segment which has been growing by more than 25 percent per year, according to Kevin Mealey. “Comfort and health are very important to consumers,” said Mealey, “and our new mattress ‘store within a store’ is designed to make shopping and buying this important item as convenient as possible.” In addition to the mattress “store within a store,” the new Warminster Mealey’s will offer another “store within a store” for children’s and teen furniture, as well as separate areas for leather furniture, home office furniture, recliners, casual and formal rooms, and dining furniture, as well as a special “Marketplace” featuring eclectic one-of-a-kind imported accents. Compared to Mealey’s other stores and to most furniture stores, the selection will be nearly doubled in capacity and options. As with other family-friendly stores from this family company, the new Warminster store will feature a café and area for children with snacks, video games and other electronic entertainment. The new store is part of Mealey’s planned expansion within the Delaware Valley region, and will add approximately 50-60 new jobs. As part of this opening, Mealey’s is partnering with the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter, for its new Service to Military Families program, which helps service members and their families with emergency communications (more than local 150 emergencies per year), as well as counseling and social services for military members and their families. Mealey’s will provide furnishings for the new Service to Military Families Center, located in Levittown, and customers coming to all four Mealey’s stores in July and August will have the opportunity to donate supplies for soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to wounded warriors recovering at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. “We believe strongly in being good neighbors in our communities,” said Mealey, “and the Red Cross’ new ‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors’ program is an ideal match for our company’s values.” Over the past few years, Mealey’s has donated more than $500,000 to nearly 100 different non-profit organizations throughout the region. In addition to the new Warminster store, current Mealey’s locations are in Oxford Valley and Bensalem PA, and in Moorestown, NJ.
