The April High Point Market debuts on Monday, and the International Home Furnishings Center says that it is creating a buzz about what is about to be unveiled, with an enormous JumboTron at the entrance. Located at the IHFC's Commerce Avenue entrance and the High Point Market's Transportation Terminal, the large-screen television technology – typically seen in sports stadiums and concert venues – will not only entice marketgoers to check out all of the products and activities inside, but will also keep visitors informed with up-to-date news. The JumboTron will promote IHFC exhibitors, as well as the new and exciting renovations at InterHall and Pavilions on 3. Passersby will also find information regarding market seminars and updates from the High Point Market Authority, all designed to make sure no one misses a beat. "This is an exciting time for the High Point Market," says Tom Lindh, IHFC president and CEO. "An enormous amount of work has gone into the IHFC for this market by the building and by the exhibitors – innovations, renovations and more – and we're eager to share what we have to offer in a big way. The JumboTron will make sure marketgoers know just how much we've added to the mix." Opening in 1921, IHFC was the original showroom building in High Point and after 85 years of expansion remains the centerpiece of the world’s largest home-furnishings trade show that attracts more than 90,000 participants twice a year to 2,600 showrooms covering 11.5 million square feet. IHFC alone is home to 650 of the leading home-furnishings manufacturers, including 13 of the top 20 companies, and covers 3.5 million square feet.
