More than 300 mattress industry leaders came together earlier this month in Weston, Florida to participate at the International Sleep Products Association’s (ISPA) 2007 Industry Conference and Exhibition. Attendees were treated to a comprehensive series of educational programs on timely issues affecting the mattress industry along with 32 exhibits showcasing a wide variety of innovative products and services. The meeting addressed today’s market opportunities, analyzed the current economic outlook, discussed challenges with the flammability standard, and offered new ways to reach out to the consumer. Top rated speakers discussed with conference participants trends that affect their businesses, and provided ideas for improving operations and reducing bottom line costs that will help them stay competitive and compliant with government rules. According to Sr. Vice President of Sales with Mattress Discounters, Mike Eppinger, “Not only was the Industry Conference well organized and in a great location, it was professionally run as well. It was great to see so much interest and participation with great speakers that provided so much helpful information, motivation and encouragement.” Attendee Leo Echeverria, vice president of manufacturing for Comfort Solutions by King Koil also noted, “The 2007 ISPA Industry Conference and Exhibition was an outstanding opportunity for me to learn about the latest industry developments and to network with others in the industry.” “This event offered a great deal for everyone in the mattress industry,” noted ISPA President Dick Doyle. “In such a competitive market, it’s worthwhile to periodically come together as an industry to focus on the issues that affect us all and adjust our perspective on the challenges before us. The 2007 ISPA Industry Conference and Exhibition was an excellent forum that allowed the industry to grow collectively and individually.” To see a sampling of speaker presentations and selected slides, visit www.sleepproducts.org/IndustryConferenceReview .
