Aurich Named VP of Global Manufacturing for Magnussen Home

Charles Aurich has been named vice president of global manufacturing for Magnussen Home Furnishings, Inc. He will be based in Hong Kong, and will report to Richard Magnussen, chief executive officer and president of Magnussen Home. In this newly-created position, Aurich will lead the company’s quality and supply teams worldwide, create and integrate new global supply chain management and quality management programs, and identify new sourcing and supply opportunities. “Charles has a successful track record of building and leading effective global manufacturing and quality initiatives,” Magnussen says. “With his first-hand knowledge of the global marketplace, Charles brings tremendous value to building our international infrastructure, and will play an integral role in helping us achieve our goal of ‘on time, on quality and on cost’.” Aurich joins Magnussen Home from Lexington Home Brands where he held a number of positions since 2001. Most recently, Aurich was the general manager for international operations in Hong Kong where he was responsible for all Asian import operations and for building the company’s team in Asia. Prior to that, he served as the director of quality for the company’s domestic operations. Before joining Lexington Home Brands, Aurich was a product manager for Truth Hardware and before that, plant manager for Stanley Furniture Company, Inc. where he started as a project engineer and held a number of positions including superintendent, plant controller, and manager of master scheduling. Aurich graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and also earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Georgia. He lives in Hong Kong with his wife, and seven-year-old son. Magnussen Home Furnishings, Inc. designs, imports, and distributes medium-and upper-medium-priced occasional tables, accent furniture, bedroom, dining room and home entertainment furniture across all style categories for retailers around the world. The company brings more than 20 years of experience with offshore sourcing focused on quality control of state-of-the-art technology, workmanship, finishing and timely delivery. Magnussen Home has permanent showrooms in High Point, Toronto and Las Vegas with state-of-the-art warehouses and distribution centers in Riverside, Calif. and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Its U.S. Sales and Marketing Offices are located in High Point, N.C. The Canadian company is headquartered in New Hamburg, Ontario.
