Ruelle's Furniture, located at 905 South Caesar Chavez Drive in Milwaukee announced that it will be closing on September 1st its business of selling new and used furniture over the last 34 years. Mr. Ambrose Ruelle, who resides in Menomonee Falls, originally started the business in 1973 at a location near 41st and Capital Drive. He expanded to its current location in the spring of 1976. In 1980, the north side store was closed and operations were consolidated. "The community and State & City agencies that kept us in business for the last 34 years are going to be deeply missed. It was the lifeblood of our store and the interaction and memories of all the people that have walked through our door touched our hearts in making this decision. All we can say as a family is thank you for your business! On that note, all items are priced to sell quickly to show our appreciation to our customers," stated Mr. Ruelle, who has been telling customers he is going fishing, but not selling his well known furniture truck that paced the city streets over the years picking up & delivering furniture to his customers throughout the metropolitan area. Starting June 1st, all inventories in the store are being priced for immediate liquidation. The building is being prepared to welcome its new tenant. "The positive redevelopment of Caesar Chavez Drive and the changing dynamics of the area with the opening of the new El Rey store across the street created an opportunity for personal change in my life after 35 years of sixty (60) hours a week in the store," Mr. Ruelle states on the final ninety days of his business. The store will open six days a week until September 1st from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
