Leaders of the home furnishings industry are invited to breakfast at the Help1Up Launch Gala at High Point Market, IHFC Ballroom A, on Thursday March 29 from 7:30 to 8:15 AM. The event is proudly sponsored by Ashley Furniture Industries, and emceed by the editor-in-chief of Furniture/Today and NFBA Board of Directors member Ray Allegrezza. During the free breakfast you will learn about Help1Up, the home furnishings industry’s completely free, socially responsible and environmentally friendly used furniture removal service. Find out how Help1Up increases sales of new furniture, protects the environment, and provides one million pieces of used furniture directly to over 100,000 families in need each year. The Help1Up Launch Gala will feature the first annual NFBA Awards Ceremony. Come find out who is the Retailer of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, and the Helping Hero of the Year. Also at the event the NFBA will be honoring Help1Up industry sponsors, Help1Up endorsing industry associations, and our valued Board of Advisors. This is a “must-attend” event for CEOs, presidents, and vice presidents in the home furnishings industry. Help1Up is a free used furniture removal service available to the general public. Help1Up is administered by the non-profit National Furniture Bank Association (NFBA), made possible through a network of dozens of furniture banks across the country. Furniture banks collect used home furnishings from the public, give the donor a tax-deductible receipt, then provide the furnishings directly to families in need. Typical furniture bank clients are women and children escaping domestic violence, families living below the poverty line, and victims of natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. Remember – save the date – the Help1Up Launch Gala at High Point Market is in Ballroom A on Thursday March 29 from 7:30 to 8:15 AM. Bring your appetite, your business cards, and your curiosity! Pre-registration is not required, but you must be a registered High Point Market attendee.
