A casual contemporary dining room, home entertainment/bunching china cabinet, a home entertainment plasma TV stand and occasional pieces all are included in the "Apollo " collection, the latest in the Michael Payne Collections licensed to Powell. Designer Michael Payne says, "Modern simplicity characterizes this handsome group ... the design is reminiscent of the Art Deco period, a design style that continues in its popularity.” According to Anne Russell, Powell Marketing Manager, "The Apollo Collection features an interesting transitional cabriolet flare. The legs of each piece are finished in black and shaped in a curved taper. The tables and cabinet tops are finished in walnut and rise above the surface of the legs with decorative chrome balls that give the appearance of a floating top. Several pieces feature glass tops and shelves." One of the stars of this collection is the Dining Room grouping complete with a vertical china cabinet that uniquely doubles as a media tower. It boasts a raised walnut finish and includes clear glass shelves and glass doors. Openings in the back panel of the cabinet for audio/video equipment wire management provide a highly practical touch with additional functionality to a stylish piece. Featured in the grouping with the china cabinet is a dining pedestal (again with a raised walnut finish over four chrome corner balls) with a choice of glass tops, allowing customers to customize the table to their liking. Side chairs in black finish with black faux suede upholstery add to the Art Deco feeling of the group. The "Apollo" home entertainment plasma television stand features a clear, tempered 10mm glass top, supported by four chrome balls sitting on a walnut finished cabinet. The base has a black finished skirt and legs, and includes a lower shelf supported with an X chrome plated base. The center space of the cabinet is open to hold media components, and two side drawers are accented with chrome knobs. Known for their accent and occasional pieces, Powell includes them in this collection as well: cocktail table, end table, plant stand and sofa table. Each has a raised walnut finish top over four chrome balls and black finish on the skirts and legs. In addition to the Apollo Collection, Powell offers a wide selection of accent pieces including those with black accents, cherry accents, jewelry armoires, individual seating and kitchen accents including bakers racks. Founded in 1968, Powell has been a leading importer of design-driven, high quality products for nearly forty years. The company’s success is a result of its service oriented culture, broad product offerings, multiple sourcing and delivery options, and an industry-wide reputation for reliability, integrity and honesty.
