The charming, witty and popular television host of Divine Design, Candice Olson, believes you can have a room that’s both beautiful and practical when you begin with being honest with yourself. Candice, the consummately professional interior designer, will offer attendees dramatic before-and-after room makeovers and share smart tips, practical advice and insights into the essentials of great interior design. Olson’s seminar will be followed by a book signing and opportunity to meet her personally. Her signature style incorporates creativity, practicality and timelessness to create sophisticated yet accessible designs. Her work reflects her personality – intelligent, warm and inviting with a touch of irreverence. Dana Pretner, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for World Market Center, said it is an exciting opportunity to have Candice Olson on this market’s seminar roster. “Candice Olson is such a well-known and respected interior designer, both to the consumer market because of her hugely successful television program, but also to the home furnishings industry because of her numerous licensing agreements. We are truly excited to have her speaking at the January Las Vegas Market, and her presentation will be a not-to-be-missed event.” Candice attended the University of Calgary in Canada where she simultaneously received her Bachelor of Science degree while traveling the globe playing on the Canadian National Woman’s Volleyball Team. She continued her academic studies at the School of Interior Design at Ryerson University. Upon graduating, she immediately was recruited by some of North America’s top interior design firms. After honing her skills, Candice established her own residential and commercial design practice in 1994. In 2002 after numerous guest expert appearances on several different television shows, Candice decided to try her hand at television, hosting a new series called Divine Design. Divine Design with Candice Olson debuted simultaneously in the U.S. on HGTV and in Canada on the W Network, immediately establishing itself as the No. 1 rated prime series on both networks. In the U.S., Divine Design is broadcast as many as 17 times per week reaching an average weekly audience of over 85 million. With outstanding ratings, critical acclaim and an ever expanding audience, Candice continues to make her mark as one of North America’s most trusted and gifted professionals in the interior design and media fields. In her book, Candice Olson on Design (Meredith Books, January 2006, $19.95), she shares dozens of smart tips, practical advice and insights into the essentials of great interior design. With 24 dramatic before-and-after room makeovers Candice takes readers through her exciting and practical step-by-step, honest approach to design, offering advice on lighting, cabinets, countertops, window treatments, color and more. She also authors a weekly newspaper column to more than 400 newspapers through United Feature Syndicate. Candice lives in Toronto with her husband, two children and a menagerie of pets.
