Interlude Home Names New VP Merchandising

Interlude Home, based in Trumbull, CT, has named Jim Calhoun their new Vice President of Merchandising. A growing designer, importer and marketer of accessories and accent furniture, Interlude Home is expanding its brands, styles and price points. Jim Calhoun will be responsible for developing products for both existing and new categories, as well as determining the strategies for line expansion. He will coordinate development of new designs and sources for accent furniture and accessories and will spearhead the 2007 introduction of a new Interlude Home upholstery collection. He will supervise prototype development and production of new models that will be introduced in High Point and Las Vegas. Calhoun brings broad knowledge of style trends, colors, and design to Interlude Home with prior executive roles in both retail and manufacturing. Most recently, he served as Creative Director and Director of Merchandising at Norwalk Furniture for 11 years, where he supervised store merchandising programs and planned store openings, while also being responsible for Norwalk’s product development, fabric selection, and frame applications. His prior retail experience included 12 years as Director of Merchandising and Lead Buyer at Storehouse Furniture in Atlanta. Calhoun’s duties included resource development in Europe, South America and Asia, as well as visual merchandising, store management, and purchasing for all store categories.
