Butler Specialty Co., a leader in accent furniture, announced the creation of a new division to address the home-furnishing industry’s substantial bedroom segment with style and value. Butler – founded here in 1930 by fathers and grandfathers of the current owners – will unveil Chicago Bedroom at the industry’s largest trade show next month, the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C. (IHFC C-354). The new company will offer retailers a range of styles and finishes in four distinctive collections – all with sharply competitive prices bearing recognizable Chicago names:· LaSalle Collection, featuring fresh interpretation of 18th century Low Country French design ·Hyde Park Collection, 18th century European styling with a signature linen-fold inlay in maple, walnut and cherry veneers ·Marquette Park Collection, country French styling executed with rogue cherry veneers and Cognac finish ·Lake Shore Drive Collection, transitional styling enhanced by cathedral-grain cherry veneers and maple inlays Chicago Bedroom designs and manufactures middle to high-end bedroom products packed with style. Each piece is an inspired creation by the company’s product development team and designers. Products incorporate the same elements that have made Butler successful for 76 years: fashion-forward original designs, fine woods and veneers, elegant inlays, authentic hand painting, leather treatments, and hand-rubbed finishes. “We have done our homework – we have shopped the marketplace,” says David Bergman, president and chief executive officer. “With these opening collections, in terms of both design and finishes, we have produced furniture for the bedroom that will provide retailers and interior designers choices unavailable anywhere else. We’re very excited about sharing this line with our customers in High Point next month.” Chicago Bedroom understands and respects the highly competitive nature of the bedroom segment. Bergman says the company is committed to designing and producing fashion-forward, top-quality furniture at sharply competitive prices, setting margins at attractive price points to create compelling values across the line. Chicago Bedroom is managed across the board by Butler’s top executives. With warehousing and shipping from Butler facilities in Chicago, the company provides retailers an opportunity to order the way that works best for them – from multiple containers to a single product. The new company also has an experienced and committed customer-service team. “At Butler, we have created a business that is the largest and best in its category, accent furniture,” Bergman says. “We are determined that Chicago Bedroom will achieve the same results and be recognized as among the leaders in this much larger segment. We believe it’s not OK to be anything less than excellent in everything we do. We will not be average. We are only going to be great. That is the cornerstone of how we make decisions and the clear expectation of everybody around here.” Butler, which supplies more than 4,000 retailers across the country, has specialized in accent furniture longer than any other company in America. Products cover every accent category in a broad range of styles and price points. Many pieces feature authentic hand painting. Others are made from an array of exotic materials in inspired combinations of fossil stone, hand-hammered copper and various metals, bamboo inlays, cane and rattan.
