Barcalounger, a highly recognized name in the furniture industry, is increasing its presence at the San Francisco Mart in time for the SF Mart’s Winter Show, which runs February 2-5. The Barcalounger announcement follows news from last week that Universal, Hekman and Howard Miller have all chosen to increase their square footage with Furniture Forum in an aggressive effort to market to the highly regarded design trade in Northern California. The Barcalounger showroom at Furniture Forum will be open during the Winter Home Furnishings Show, as well as Monday-Friday throughout the year. The showroom will increase from 1,000 square feet to more than 3,000 square feet in space 489 on the fourth floor. The showroom will be operated by Ernest and Robert Legnitto of Furniture Forum, who are also managing the new Universal Home gallery program and overseeing the expansion of its Hekman and Howard Miller lines. “Our upscale ‘lifestyle designs’ have always been well-received by the design community, and that’s what Furniture Forum has also been noted for,” says Vince Ruiz, Barcalounger’s Northern California sales representative. “This is a wonderful opportunity to show much more of our complete motion assortment to the design trade.” According to Ruiz, Furniture Forum has experienced double-digit growth with the line each year since it has shown it. In the larger space, Barcalounger will show more of its stylish media groups and sectionals, as well as sofas, loveseats and recliners. The company will feature its large selection of fine fabrics and leathers, and also accept customer’s own materials. Furniture Forum, which has had a permanent showroom at the SF Mart since 1988, has a very successful and professionally managed year-round design business. The showroom features numerous high-profile lines such as the new Universal Home gallery program, Barcalounger, Hekman, Highland House, Miresco Rugs and Taylor King. With a history spanning four generations, the San Francisco Mart has a long legacy of providing design professionals and retail buyers with stylish furnishings, great value and meaningful educational opportunities. The Mart, which is located at 1355 Market Street between Ninth and Tenth Streets, has a thriving showroom business for retail buyers and design professionals throughout the year.
