Universal Furniture, a leader in high-quality, fashionable and easy to live with furniture for the home, is expanding its presence in San Francisco in time for the San Francisco Mart’s Winter Show, which runs Thursday-Sunday, February 2-5. The showroom will be open during the Winter Home Furnishings Show as well as throughout the year. The gallery-style showroom will occupy nearly 6,000 square feet in conjoining spaces 470 and 476 on the fourth floor and will be managed by Ernest and Robert Legnitto of Furniture Forum. “The space at the San Francisco Mart will showcase our new Universal Home, which is a marketing program crafted exclusively for our retail partners,” says Roland Maddrey, Universal’s vice president of sales. “Universal Home is designed as a wholly integrated resource for retail operations, and provides our customers with outstanding products, resources, support, and benefits meticulously crafted to enhance the consumer’s shopping and purchase experience.” Maddrey says that having a San Francisco-based showroom will help the Northern California territory by providing an outlet for showing all categories of Universal’s product line including bedroom, dining room, occasional, walls/entertainment centers and upholstery. “Plus, Furniture Forum has a great client base that will give Universal exposure to their middle and upper-end customer base,” says Maddrey. “We are pleased that they have decided to expand their showroom to include our products through the Universal Home program.” Furniture Forum, which has had a permanent showroom at the SF Mart since 1988, features numerous high-profile lines such as Hekman, Highland House, Howard Miller, Miresco Rugs and Taylor King. The San Francisco Home Furnishings Show is one of the easiest and most productive shows around. The SF Mart is dedicated to making a buyer’s trip easy and affordable, evidenced by hotel discounts, free shuttles, free refreshments, free breakfast, one badge for all buildings, festive social events, and fast & easy on-line registration. The City itself is also a fabulous resource for merchandising ideas, trends and inspiration. Plus, attendees can enjoy San Francisco – Conde Nast Traveler’s #1 destination in the world and Bon Appetit’s #1 city for dining out. With a history spanning four generations, the San Francisco Mart has a long legacy of providing design professionals and retail buyers with stylish furnishings, great value and meaningful educational opportunities. The Mart is located at 1355 Market Street between Ninth and Tenth Streets and is open to retail buyers and design professionals throughout the year.
