The Design Center at World Market Center, a new resource in Las Vegas for the design community, will present an educational seminar exploring the new frontier in home textiles during the January 6, 2006 First Friday event. Members of the interior design community are invited to join popular and dynamic speaker Jeanelle Dech, President of Adaptive Textiles, for this informative session on unique applications and innovative solutions shaping up in the world of textiles. Since opening this summer, the Design Center at World Market Center has given design professionals their first comprehensive design resource in Las Vegas with 40 showrooms that cover the spectrum from furniture to accessories to lighting. The home furnishings campus is set to expand its offering of textile products with showrooms in the second and third building serving top fabric companies and specifiers. According to World Market Center’s Director of Marketing, Dana Pretner, “The textile segment is a very important component of interior design so we wanted to offer new insights on interesting applications in this arena. January’s seminar presents a look at today’s digital technology and brilliant textile inks and how they can bring incredible opportunity to the custom home furnishings community.” Seminar presenter Jeanelle Dech began her career with a home-based slipcover workroom, and later with the growth of Crab Apple Farm Interiors, a retail design studio and workroom specializing in custom window treatments, located in West Chester, PA. As the founder and workroom manager of Crab Apple Farm for over 12 years, she trained and managed a staff of eight employees, and successfully passed ownership to a long-time employee who continues to build Crab Apple’s reputation for exceptional window treatment design and quality fabrication. Jeanelle is an active member and former president of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Window Coverings Association. She provides design and fabrication training through community and professional trade schools, and is a popular and dynamic speaker at industry trade shows and conferences. Most recently, Jeanelle began a new venture, Adaptive Textiles, LLC. Using DuPont Artistri digital printing technology, Adaptive Textiles offers direct pigment printing on a variety of natural grounds. The company leads the industry in short-run production for residential interiors, and provides seemingly unlimited color choices, design flexibility, and royalty-earning opportunities for artists and designers. “Interior design professionals can let their creativity soar at this seminar as they learn about new applications and how to gain direct access to custom printed fabric,” says Dech about her seminar. “Imagine specifying each color in a multi-color stripe or creating engineered border designs saving your workroom valuable fabrication time or creating your own signature line of fabric. With digital textile printing, your dreams are now a reality, and this seminar will offer unique solutions for today’s designer.” The “Exploring the New Frontier in Home Textiles” seminar will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon on January 6, 2006.
