When Furniture China 2005 closed its doors on September 17., 2005, after four days of intensive business, exhibitors and visitors confirmed that again Asia’s largest international fair for the furniture industry had more than their expectations. Indeed: the exhibition space, including sub-venues, has reached a record of 200.000 gross sqm (1.8 million square feet), 1421 exhibitors had the opportunity to enter business with over 60000 trade visitors. And it is not too early to confirm that also for 2006 sound growth can be expected – an unbroken trend in the shows 12 years history. An extensive survey has revealed satisfaction amongst exhibitors and visitors alike: Visitors from all over come to source the newest products – and with over 8000 international attendees the show is one of the most international worldwide. But not only sourcing from China was a hot topic, also sourcing from international exhibitors for East Asian markets and buying from Southeast Asian exhibitors for Western demand have become important, and these trends are proving that Furniture China has developed to be a trade hub for entire Asia. Statistics also reveal that over 90% of the exhibitors plan to exhibit again in next year. Similarly over 80% of the visitors already stated that next years show is on their schedule. Furniture China covers the entire range of furniture products, from home to business use, furnishings and decoration materials as well as supply and technology for furniture manufacturing. Due to the industry’s request, Furniture China will introduce a new chapter in 2006, called Kitchen & Cabinet 2006. In order to keep up with the demand from both exhibitors and visitors, the organizers are now planning for additional 50.000 sqm of exhibition space in 2006, filling 3 of the largest exhibition venues in Shanghai.
