cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.), a leading manufacturer of a complete line of braided-texture area rugs and accessories, has reorganized its sales department by creating an internal, direct sales force. cmi determined this move was important to best maximize the continued growth of the company. “This change was made in large part to dovetail with our company’s more targeted sales direction which places a greater concentration on our accounts and prospects,” said Donald M. Scarlata, President and CEO of cmi. “Now we have an internal sales force in place whose main focus is helping our customers sell more of our braided-texture rugs and accessories. The group we’ve put together is passionate and completely knowledgeable about our product and, as a result, can best satisfy our customers’ needs while communicating the many benefits of ‘braided’ to our prospects.” Scarlata was quick to recognize the efforts of his former outside sales representatives and said he would always be indebted to them for helping cmi exceed its potential and past sales goals. The members of the company’s direct sales group include: John Bradshaw, Vice President of National Accounts; Mary Jane Connell, Vice President of National Accounts; Kristin Henderson, National Accounts Sales Manager; Donald Minchello, National Accounts Sales Manager; Gregg Scarlata, National Accounts Sales Manager; and Chris Morelli, Sales Administrator. Additional support for the sales team will be provided by the company’s marketing and customer service departments. Founded in 1977, cmi is headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the home of Old Slater Mill and the birthplace of our nation’s textile industry. The company has specialized in manufacturing braided-texture rugs and accessories since its inception. cmi’s mission to be the innovator in the braided-texture rug category consistently produces new colors, styles, award-winning designs and shapes which most appeal to today’s consumer. These advances continue to demonstrate to consumers that braided is simply a construction process and not a style. cmi sells under its own brand name in thousands of specialty retailers and has private label programs and/or customized programs with Ethan Allen, JC Penney, Sears and many others.
