The Western Home Furnishings Association, representing more than 1,100 independent home furnishings retailers and more than 2,700 stores in 12 western states, will host a Networking Mixer for retailers and vendors, Oct. 5, in Sacramento, CA. The mixer will precede WHFA’s highly popular Academy series, an ongoing program that assists retailers by helping them build and sustain high-achieving, high-performance sales teams while effectively managing back-end operations. According to WHFA Executive Director Sharron Bradley, the mixer is open to all retailers and vendors and provides a unique opportunity for all to interact and exchange ideas in a relaxed and casual environment. “We have reinvented our area meetings which have evolved into this new mixer format,” Bradley said. “It gives participants a better chance to take in the pulse and trends occurring in the industry. This is a great opportunity for retailers to get together and share ideas.” Sales management experts Jay and Iris Byers (Byers Guide) will be on-hand to answer questions. “We are fortunate to have nationally recognized authorities on retail sales management, Jay and Iris, to give advice and share opportunities with participants,” Bradley said. The WHFA Networking Mixer is slated for Oct. 5, 2005, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West.
