A Vietnam Pavilion - organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – has been set up in the San Francisco International Gift Show at the South Hall (from booth 2067 to 2169) of the Moscone Convention Center from Aug. 6th to 10th , 2005 to introduce various artcraft, handicraft, ceramic, giftware, fashion …products. In addition, a Vietnamese business delegation of 15 members –representing manufacturers from Hanoi, Danang and HCM City - is also scheduled to visit San Francisco and New York to participate in various networking activities with American companies. The delegation activities in the US are being coordinated by the Vietnam Resource Group – a private consulting firm based in Washington DC in cooperation with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of International Trade & Commerce, the Bay Area World Trade Center and the US-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce. As the result of the implementation of the Bilateral Trade Agreement, trading between Vietnam and the US in 2004 was nearly fourfold vis-à-vis 2001. In 2004 Vietnamese merchandise exports to the US reached nearly US$6 billion in which 400 millions are from the handicraft, artcraft and home accessories. This is the first time Vietnamese companies exhibit at the San Francisco International Gift Show and they are considering the Bay Area as their springboard in marketing their products in the US.
