Taylor King announced that the company will host a seminar to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation this Spring at the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point. The seminar entitled “A Day at the Market,” is open to any individual interested in donating to those who have been touched by this disease. Co-sponsored by Interiors by Decorating Den, the event will take place on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 outside the entrance of the Taylor King showroom in the atrium located on the 2nd floor of the 200 Steele Building. Tickets are $125 and all proceeds will go to the Komen Foundation. “A Day at the Market” will afford guests a unique opportunity to experience the International Home Furnishings Market, usually open only to retailers. The day’s events will commence at noon with a luncheon catered by Emerywood Fine Foods. The afternoon will feature a seminar by Carol Bugg, VP and Director of Design for Interiors By Decorating Den. With over thirty years of experience, Bugg received her training at the International Institute of Interior Design in Washington D.C. and the Parsons School of Design in Paris. She has written three best-selling books and has appeared as a design expert on various radio and television programs. The seminar will focus on enlightening consumers on strategic design tactics and other ways to improve the home. A breast cancer survivor is also scheduled to speak, and she will share her knowledge and experiences related to the disease as well as information about risk factors, prevention measures, and means of early detection. Later in the afternoon, attendees will take a tour of the Taylor King showroom and witness the newest design trends in upper end furniture. “We are proud to be a part of such a great event,” stated Del Starnes, President of Taylor King. “Interiors by Decorating Den has assembled an informative and enjoyable afternoon that benefits a wonderful, charitable foundation." “We are very grateful for the opportunity to deliver this seminar,” stated Carolyn Jordan, District Manager of Interiors by Decorating Den. “With the help of Taylor King, we will enlighten and entertain our guests with great food and design tips while at the same time creating awareness in the community about the dangers of breast cancer.” Jordan, who coordinated the event with other Decorating Den franchise owners in the Piedmont Triad and Triangle areas, normally holds one seminar a year to benefit the Komen Foundation. Tickets for “A Day at the Market” are available to the general public for $125 each. All proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs.
