You still have time to enter your products in the 2004 ASFD Pinnacle Awards. To meet the August 27 deadline for postmark of your entries, download an entry kit in PDF format at www.asfd.com. Or, if there is still time, call Christine Evans at 910/576-1273 to get an application by mail. Designers and manufacturers may submit entries in sixteen categories. They are stationary, motion and leather upholstery; bedroom, formal and casual dining; home office, home entertainment, juvenile, lighting, accessories, occasional tables, occasional storage, summer/casual furniture and major collections. Decorative surfaces is a new category this year which includes a product, group or collection where the majority of the components (by weight) are composite panel products that have a decorative surface applied to them. Judges for the 2004 Pinnacle entries are Ray Allegrezza, Editor-in-Chief, Furniture/Today; Richard Bennington, Director of Home Furnishings Program at High Point University; Lee Buchanan, Editor-in-Chief, InFurniture; Larry Chilton, Corporate Buyer and Merchandise Manager for Wood-Armfield Company; Brenda Eskridge,President, Creative Interiors; Mary Frye, President, Home Furnishings International Association; Jaclyn Hirschhaut, Vice President Public Relations & Marketing, American Furniture Manufacturers Association; Max Shangle, Professor, Kendall College of Art & Design; Julie Smith, Editor-in-Chief, Furniture Style; Mary Turschmann, Director of Business Development, Robb & Stucky; Steve Walker, Furniture Manufacturing and Management Center, NCSU; and Rhonda Wolf, Assistant V.P., Merchandising at Havertys. Up to three finalists and one winner will be selected in each category.
