George 'Bill' Wentworth Dies Monday, June 30:

Former president of Moosehead Manufacturing Company, George 'Bill' Wentworth died Monday, June 30. Wentworth joined the company in 1951, served as its president from 1983 to 1991 and was chairman of the board at the time of his death. Bill, who was well known and loved throughout the New England woodworking community, served as a carrier pilot during WWII. He was a tireless promoter of local community betterment through the church and the Monson Beautification Project. He was a founding director of the local hospital district and was presented the Silver Beaver Award for his lifelong support of the Boy Scouts. Wentworth is survived by his wife of 47 years, Van (Durham) Wentworth; three sons John and Jim, who are active in the family owned business and Peter of Sullivan's Island, SC; three sisters and five grandchildren.
