Tice Promoted To General Manager Of La-Z-Boy Midwest Monroe

La-Z-Boy Incorporated has promoted Dan Tice to the position of general manager of La-Z-Boy Midwest, one of the company's nine manufacturing plants. Formerly superintendent of the Neosho, Mo.-based plant, Tice replaces David A. Layman who recently was promoted to vice president of manufacturing - residential upholstery. In his new position, Tice assumes responsibility for plant operations at La-Z-Boy Midwest and continues to report directly to Layman. In 1972, Tice started his career with La-Z-Boy as an upholsterer. He was promoted to upholstery supervisor in 1984 and two years later to a position in La-Z-Boy's time study department. In 1990, Tice moved to La-Z-Boy corporate headquarters in Monroe, Mich., where he worked in the engineering department. Promoted in 1992 to second shift superintendent of the La-Z-Boy Midwest facility, Tice returned to Neosho where he currently resides with his wife and daughter. "Dan has tremendous knowledge and experience in plant operations and the manufacture of La-Z-Boy upholstery," said Gerald L. Kiser, executive vice president and chief operating officer of La-Z-Boy. "He has shown impressive dedication and professionalism and we look forward to his contributions as general manager."
