Enthusiasm is the key to success, according to The Media Matters’ founder and President Kathy Wall, who announced two promotions and the addition of a new face among her cadre of home furnishings industry marketing and PR specialists. “If you love what you are doing, it’s not work,” says Wall. “It’s such a rush to help companies achieve their objectives and then to be rewarded with repeat business and new clients,” she adds. “With these changes, we are able to remain responsive to each client’s needs as our business continues to grow.” Effective immediately, Dawn Brinson is vice president, marketing services, reporting to Wall. In her new position, Brinson will continue to provide brand management and strategy development services. She is recognized for contributions to the growth of the business and for expanding the client base. She was previously marketing director. Prior to joining The Media Matters in 2002, Brinson was executive director of the Furniture Discovery Center, a unique museum located in High Point, N.C. She has over 20 years marketing experience and has held a variety of positions, including in sales and marketing for Lea Industries, a division of LADD, Inc. Barbara Strickland is office manager, responsible for all day-to-day business operations. She reports directly to Wall. Strickland began working with The Media Matters in 2001 as marketing manager. Prior to that, she held numerous roles in the areas of office administration, sales and marketing in her 25-year career with Lexington Furniture Industries (now Lexington Home Brands). “Our reputation is built on excellence and efficiency,” says Wall. “Promotions recognize staff efforts and their dedication to that common goal. And new staff helps us sustain the energy and creativity that our clients thrive on.” Siri Lyke has joined The Media Matters as marketing coordinator. Her responsibilities include account services, marketing support, and training/development programs for clients. She will also work with the media in the area of public relations. Most recently, Lyke was training coordinator for Piedmont Associated Industries, based in Greensboro. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro and has also worked in a variety of roles within the travel and home furnishings industries.
