New Mission Collection Tops Kimball Home's San Francisco Introductions

Kimball Home the residential arm of furniture giant Kimball International, will Introduce a bedroom group and several additions to an existing bedroom, dining room and occasional collection at the July 1999 San Francisco Summer Market. The new bedroom collection, which has not yet been named, Is based on the principles of early 20th-century Mission design: strong, heavy components, straight vertical lines and minimal adornment The collection will be crafted from 'quarter-sawn" oak. This cutting method results in unique grain patterns that add texture and interest to the furniture. Eight pieces will be Introduced in San Francisco, including a bed, a double dresser, several chests and a mirror. Kimball Home will also unveil several additions to Cutback Retreat, a bedroom, dining room and occasional collection introduced it) High Point this past April. The Arts & Crafts/Shaker-inspired collection Is crafted from Australian Wormy Chestnut and other select hardwoods. Australian Wormy Chestnut, imported from the hardwood forests of Victoria, Australia, features natural markings left by its harsh native climate. Kimball Home will also show Victoria Passage, a British Colonial-! inspired bedroom, dining room and occasional collection introduced in High Point In October 1 1998. This collection is crafted from maple and other select hardwoods, The San Francisco Summer Market will be held July 23 - 27, 1999.
