AICO/ Amini Innovation Corp., which launched a novel packaging program nearly two years ago for china hutches, buffets, sideboards and mirrors on a select basis, will package all new introductions in this protective packaging material on an ongoing basis. Michael Amini, president and CEO said that this engineered cartoning has evolved into a state-of-the-art achievement; the result of years of extensive work. "Our concept of packaging china cabinets and related products to minimize damage in delivery at both the retail and consumer level has proved a success far beyond what we envisioned," the executive said. Amini noted that the company's form contoured packaging in styrofoam has been perfected to the point where there is little likelihood of damage due to furniture handling. The Southern California based manufacturer/importer has solved virtually all problems involved in landing delicate glass-enhanced furniture that range from improper stacking and storage of cartons destined for retailers to difficult second floor deliveries to consumers. Broken glass shelving and related glass door damage has been eliminated. The glass shelves are rigidly affixed by a special shelf clip. "Delays in delivery as a result of damaged are now a thing of the past," Amini observed. "The vastly improved delivery system has enabled AICO to achieve new levels of shipping ease and efficiency," he added. He cited the virtual elimination of smashed corners and broken glass shelving. "Adding up all the high costs of producing metal molds for the styrofoam which fits the shape of the individual style inside and out, the packaging program has saved us money while generating consumer and dealer satisfaction. Plus dealers praise us by noting that products from AICO come in clean. I'm surprised that we have not heard of other furniture importers and manufacturers doing the same thing."
