IHFRA President Bill Feldman Dead at 56

Bill Feldman, a longtime manufacturer's representative and President of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at South Fulton Medical Center, Atlanta. Born Dec. 28, 1943, and a resident of St. Francisville, he is survived by his wife, Gertie LaBauve Feldman; two daughters, Denise Feldman Mumphry and Becky Feldman Hodges; two sons-in-law, Francis Mumphry and Todd Hodges; a granddaughter, Carla Martin, 13; two grandsons, Wade Martin Jr., 15, and Aaron Mumphry, six; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Feldman, Dallas. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Sophia Evalon Feldman and Leon Feldman. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He was a member of Baton Rouge Jaycees from 1964 to 1980 and formally served on the board of directors of Greater Baton Rouge State Fair. He was a member of the Louisiana Home Furnishing Representatives since 1971, having served as president in 1988 and was currently serving as president of the International Home Furnishing Representatives Association.
