Sheffield, the nation's largest school of interior design, has launched a new free Website with a monthly E-Zine that's chock full of the kind of practical decorating tips anyone can use. Sheffield's Designer Monthly offers up-to-the-minute ideas and advice that, tailored to today's busy lifestyle, get straight to the point - helping people make their home and office environments both beautiful and functional. One of the site's most popular features is the "Room of the Month" where a finished room is analyzed in detail from the perspective of the three cornerstones of decorating, Sheffield's Three Guidelines: function, mood and harmony. Also featured on the site at http://www.sheffield.edu is "The Anxious Decorator", a down-to-earth advice column tackling common decorating difficulties. And in recognition of today's changing work landscape (by 2005 an estimated 22% of employed Americans will be working from their homes), we're running a regular series: Small Office/Home Office Decorating. These in-depth articles will not only help decorators plan and furnish their home workspace, but will also address the expanding marketplace for home office equipment. Then there's the Spotlight on Style series. Each quarter, one of today's hottest trends in home decorating will be explored in depth, examining its history, exploring ways to use it and even interviewing collectors and specialists. First up is Mid-Century Design, followed next quarter by Mission. With the home furnishings industry booming, this site is primed to become one of the hottest spots on the Net. Check it out today at http://www.sheffield.edu For more information, call the Sheffield School of Interior Design at 212-661-7270 or email us at sheff@idt.net.
