Imagine creating a realistic living room preview with a few mouse clicks. SeeMyDesign.com has announced it is possible with the launch of revolutionary technology that delivers photographic living room design and visualization. SeeMyDesign Room Preview, tallows consumers and designers to select from flooring, faux paint textures and colors, furniture, wallpaper and furnishings, and see the results in less than 10 seconds. "There is significant value for the homeowner and interior designer to preview photographic furnishings, flooring, blinds, patterns and colors together -- before they're purchased," said Bill Adams, chief executive officer of SeeMyDesign. "The previews are clear and crisp, and the technology is fast and efficient -- even with slower computers, modems and old web browsers. No plug-in or software installation is required." To begin designing, go to http://www.seemydesign.com, click on the SeeMyDesign tab and follow the simple directions. A photographic-quality room image will appear in seconds after making a few choices and clicking "submit." Refining the room is easy -- just return to the previous selections and make new choices. The SeeMyDesign living room features a variety of possible element combinations by offering selections from categories such as chairs, sofas, tables, rugs, lamps, entertainment centers, art and wallpaper. Additional selections arrive monthly. The intuitive color selector allows wall and trim paint selections from more than six million colors and provides manufacturer paint names close to the colors selected once the room has been previewed. The paint colors can be previewed in gloss, semi-gloss or flat. Other rooms such as home office and kitchen are currently being developed. According to Adams, the technology has been tested on the Internet for the last 15 months; and SeeMyDesign.com was recently named the Utah Java User Group's site of the month -- based on a pre-launch preview. Utah Java User Group President Glen Lewis reviewed SeeMyDesign.com and said, "This site lets you select floor and wall coverings and colors as well as furniture for a living room. It then generates a very realistic image of the room, which I thought was pretty impressive. In addition to the quality of the resulting image, I was impressed with how quickly the image was generated." "There are so many options to choose from that you can easily spend a couple hours playing with it." In a January 20 review in Salt Lake City's daily newspaper, the Deseret News, technology staff writer Lois M. Collins reported: "(With SeeMyDesign.com), interior designs can be modified again and again. You can pick a new color scheme or see what different furniture would look like in your existing home ... (Then) with a click of mouse and in less than 10 seconds, your choices have been rendered as photograph-quality views. It's then pretty easy to see what works and what doesn't. It's quite fun." Collins also reported that SeeMyDesign offers the ability to lay out a two-dimensional room: "You put in the room dimensions, then the furniture dimensions and it allows you to move items around and even rotate them to get your desired effect. It sure beats hauling the entertainment center from wall to wall." Adams said, "We feel our technology is open to a wide audience because it is fast, free and doesn't require a learning curve. Within minutes of entering our site, you can begin designing a living room -- without any special setup or installations. Once a room is designed to your satisfaction, the image can be saved, printed and taken to the local furniture store or home improvement center for paint chip matching and to aid in the purchase of items." In addition to the unique SeeMyDesign Room Preview, visitors to the site can manage their projects with the SeeMyDesign Room Planner and arrange a room with SeeMyDesign Room Layout. SeeMyDesign.com also contains design support information including architectural stylistic periods, flooring comparisons, design examples, safety tips, room project planners, design help resources and information about each design element. The technology is also available, with a fee, to retailers that wish to feature custom showrooms and furnishings on their Internet sites. Each hosted furnishing can be linked to e-commerce packages for detailed product information and online purchase. Retailers may also choose to use the SeeMyDesign Room Preview for in-store kiosks, which can reduce sales time spent with customers during the decision-making process, be used to create take-home printouts, and combat returns based on poor color and pattern selection. Faux Like a Pro(TM), the Internet's premiere website for faux finish and decorative painting, recently went live with SeeMyDesign Room Preview -- allowing visitors to sample a myriad of faux paint textures online. Visit Faux Like A Pro(TM) at http://www.fauxlikeapro.com. "The homeowner and interior designer now have a valuable resource to aid in designing personal living space, and manufacturers and retailers now have a way of showcasing their offerings in the context of a prospective buyers' living room preview," said Adams.
