The 18th annual Kansas City Home Furnishings Market to be held Sept. 25-27 will have 15,000 square feet of additional exhibit space located at the entrance to the Exhibition Hall. The new space is reached through two doorways, one to the right of the registration area and the other through a wall of the Exhibition Hall. Part of the new area was utilized for exhibits while under construction during the 1997 market. All exhibits are on newly carpeted ground floor in an easy-to-work, compact setting. The market is sponsored by Kansas City Home Furnishings Representatives Association to give personalized attention to merchandising needs of buyers drawn from the four-state region that the members know and serve. Jeff Hallquist, president of KCHFRA, notes that the extended exhibition space will make it possible to add exhibitors on a waiting list for space assignments. "More exhibitors and September market dates strengthen retailers' opportunity to choose the latest home furnishings and accessories in time for profitable, seasonal selling," Hallquist said. As in past years, the market will be held in the Kansas City Market Center, located at the Front St. Exit 57 of Interstate 435. Show hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Free parking and RV hookups are available in paved and lighted lots adjoining the market site. A deli will be open daily with seating on the bridge spanning the Exhibition Hall. For more information on the market call 913-438-3622.
