Corvette fans can now bring the excitement of the Corvette experience indoors, thanks to Racing Furniture, a company that designs high-quality, automotive-inspired furniture for racing fans. The company has designed three distinct chairs and ottomans, including a special 50th Anniversary model, that are all inspired from classic, timeless Corvette car designs. “Corvette owners and enthusiasts love the look and image of a Corvette, and they’re incredibly brand loyal,” says Brown Councill, CEO of Racing Furniture. “With the Corvette license for furniture, we are able to utilize our unique ability to interpret automotive design for the home and office to produce furniture that taps into the passion of Corvette fans.” Racing Furniture’s Corvette chairs are designed with great attention to the original automotive seat and body details and are stunning in both style and comfort. Features include unique tuck and roll tailoring on the seats and backs, as well as on the matching ottomans. The chair arms share design details from the inside door arm rests, and even the stitching reflects the original Corvette designs. Three classic Corvette chairs with matching ottomans are currently available, all crafted in first-quality, soft, top-grain leather, finely stitched embroidered Corvette logos and strong, engineered hardwood frames combined with a heavy duty wire frame suspension. The red leather C1 is inspired from the original 1953 Corvette, complete with white stitching just like the original seats. The black leather C5 chair reflects the current Corvette styling. The third model is the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition chair in shale leather, celebrating a half-century of Corvette style, design and performance. The back of both the C5 and the 50th reflects the classic beveled back where the headlights rest on the car, a detail that has remained consistent throughout the history of Corvettes. The inside seat and back feature perforated leather and the outer arm style is inspired by the outer door air scoops. The Corvette chairs made their debut at the Corvette 50th Anniversary celebration last month in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where thousands of Corvette enthusiasts gathered at the Corvette Museum to celebrate the American Icon. They will be seen by the furniture industry for the first time, along with Racing Furniture’s NASCAR line, at the October International Home Furnishings Market in High Point. Racing Furniture is a one-of-a-kind furniture company specializing in interpreting motorsports and automotive design into team-licensed furniture for the home and office. The owners, Brown Councill and Jay Shurling, combined their love for motorsports with more than 17 years of furniture design experience. Their comfortable, modern, patent-pending “Design Driven” products are hand-made by skilled craftsmen and include quality details such as densely packed embroidery to portray graphics, tuck and roll tailoring, and perforated leather and lumbar support.
