Two recent staffing moves will bring some exciting changes to Kincaid Furniture. The goal, company president Steve Kincaid says, is to strengthen retail relationships as well as the gallery and Kincaid Home Furnishings store programs. Bob Lemons of Lenoir has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, a newly created position. He will oversee all facets of marketing the company. Lemons, formerly the Senior Vice President of Sales, has been with Kincaid for 15 years. New to Kincaid, but not to the furniture industry, is Todd Hady of Charlotte. Hady comes to Kincaid as Vice President of Retail Operations after 25 years with Rhodes Furniture. Rhodes, an Atlanta-based furniture retail chain, has 90 stores in 13 states.Lemons’ experience with Kincaid’s dealer base and Hady’s 25 years of working on the retail side will add a new dimension to Kincaid’s retail services. "This reconfirms our commitment to providing a higher level of service to our customers," Kincaid says."Both Lemons and Hady will focus primarily on serving our current dealers and strengthening our customer base." Hady, who will continue living in Charlotte with his wife Angela, daughter Sharon and son Brian, looks forward to providing Kincaid with something that most furniture manufacturers do not have—"a retail eye". "Most manufacturers don’t fully understand retail," Hady says. "With its growing gallery and store programs, Kincaid was looking for someone with a retail perspective. My main goals are to help the company grow and do a better job at the retail level, and to help our sales representatives better understand dealer needs." Hady reports directly to Lemons, who will now be responsible for growing Kincaid’s freestanding stores, gallery program and independent dealer base, as well as managing the company’s sales and brand image. Lemons lives in Lenoir with his wife Linda, has two daughters and two grandchildren. Founded in 1946 by George and Wade Kincaid in Hudson, N.C., Kincaid is one of the world’s largest providers of solid wood and upholstered furniture. These products are distributed through independent retailers, dedicated galleries and a growing network of stand-alone Kincaid Home Furnishings stores. Kincaid Furniture Company is a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy Incorporated. For more information about Kincaid, visit www.kincaidfurniture.com.
