Thomasville Marketing VP Mitch Scott To Retire

Thomasville Furniture Industries announced the early retirement of Mitch Scott, VP of Marketing. Scott has been a major contributor to Thomasville’s success over the eleven years of his employment. Scott will hand over responsibilities to Kathy Devereux. Scott’s retirement is effective January 31, 2004. Presently, as Vice President of Marketing, Scott leads Thomasville’s retail marketing and brand development efforts. Under his guidance, Thomasville developed the successful marketing program for the Bogart Collection, among others. Prior to leading Thomasville’s marketing efforts, Scott was in charge of Consumer Services and Customer Service. Scott created the original formula that Thomasville now uses to determine Thomasville’s sales potential in each market. Scott also opened and for a time, was responsible for Thomasville’s outlet stores. “Mitch Scott has a passion for the Thomasville brand and what it stands for,” said Tom Tilley, President and CEO of Thomasville Furniture. “He clearly sees the company’s potential. He has been the primary driver in developing our successful licensing programs with Home Depot. Thanks to Mitch’s leadership, we are well on our way to maximizing the value of our brand.” Scott will continue to work with Thomasville and focus on licensing programs and brand development initiatives until his retirement becomes official on January 31, 2004.
