Thomasville Furniture announced the opening of a new Puget Sound area Thomasville Home Furnishings store as part of the company's aggressive initiative to open 25 or more stores nationwide this year. The 8,200 square foot store is located at 2101 1st Avenue in Seattle, Wa. "Trying to create an urban location with Thomasville has been a challenging but very rewarding endeavor," said Albert Moscatel, store manager. "The support Thomasville gives you is unsurpassed in this industry." The Moscatel family's history in the furniture business spans over 55 years in the Puget Sound area. Owners Neiso, Sam and Albert Moscatel are continuing this tradition with the Thomasville store of Puget Sound. The new Thomasville store shares a half-block location with the Moscatels' Continental Furniture store. Jim Adams, Thomasville's Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer, said that the Seattle store opening is part of Thomasville's commitment to an aggressive retail program, especially in strong growth markets such as the Pacific Northwest. "The Seattle market offers great potential for additional stores in the next few years," Adams said. "The affluent demographic and the Seattle customers' reputation for appreciating fine quality and style make the area ideal for a stronger Thomasville presence." The Puget Sound store is the second Thomasville store to open in the Seattle area in the past seven months. Ed and Karen Hatterle opened their Thomasville store last April in Tukwila, Wa.
