CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway company and the only national furniture rental provider, has promoted Jennifer Robbins to regional sales manager in Houston. Robbins will lead three business segments and sales teams focused on building relationships with customers that range from commercial to residential, including businesses, student housing, universities, property management, corporate housing and real estate.

Robbins has been with CORT for 10 years, most recently as assistant district general manager. Since joining CORT, she has played a role in major projects such as coordinating the supply of furniture and other necessities during recovery projects after Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike. Robbins was also instrumental in leading a smooth transition for the Houston district following CORT’s acquisition of Aaron Rents Corporate Furnishings Division in 2008.

“I’m excited to continue growing my role at CORT with this promotion,” said Robbins. “Serving our national accounts in Houston by providing furniture and destination services is very rewarding.”

CORT provides rental furniture for businesses, homes and apartments in Houston, and also offers high-quality, reconditioned furniture for sale in its retail clearance centers. “The prominent energy industry in Houston lends itself to project-based business,” said Robbins. “As project teams come into the city, CORT is a trusted resource for finding and furnishing temporary housing and outfitting temporary office space.”

CORT has worked with more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500 companies, including furnishings for more than 500 offices across the nation for the 2010 Census. Businesses often rent furniture during times of transition, such as when moving, expanding, hiring or acquiring another company. Companies with a long-term need for furniture also choose to rent furniture to have the flexibility to adjust their furniture inventory quickly based on business needs. In addition to commercial businesses, CORT’s business customers include apartment communities, property management and corporate housing firms, and office business centers.
