Earl Kluft & New A 3 Mattress

E.S. Kluft & Co. announced that it will unveil the A 3 Series, a new concept in U.S.-manufactured mattresses based on the best designs of European bedding, at the upcoming Furniture Market in Las Vegas, August 1-5.

The A 3 builds upon a foundation similar to a standard mattress and spring base with the addition of a separate mattress ComfortTop to achieve tailored comfort and unsurpassed conformability for each customer.  The ComfortTop of the multi-tiered mattress set, created by Earl Kluft, CEO of E.S. Kluft & Co., who also invented the EuroTop, is a breakthrough in U.S.-manufactured bedding. While the new design will be dedicated to the A 3 Series, Kluft plans to apply the A 3 three-tier design to all of the Kluft Aireloom lines in at least one model in each collection.  Additionally, Kluft’s ultra luxurious models, including the headline-grabbing Palais Royale, will also be fitted with a ComfortTop.
“My travels across Europe earlier this year were very inspiring,” said Kluft, who began work on the A 3 Series bedding concept soon after returning from the January IMM show in Germany.

“I have long admired what the European bedding brands have been able to achieve in design and function, but they always lacked the structure of American bedding. The A 3 takes European innovation and combines it with E.S. Kluft’s superior designs and technology, bringing together the best of both worlds.  There will be nothing like it in the market.”

The ComfortTops feature several different specifications.  The most luxurious model features a reversible pad with a Talalay latex core which is lined with soft certified organic cotton on one side and certified New Zealand Joma wool on the other side, offering options for cooler sleep in summer and warmer sleep in winter.  Kluft will also introduce a new ultra-luxurious and cooling Watergel from Italy in the ComfortTop.

The middle core is comprised of either all-foam construction or heat-treated individually wrapped springs, natural latex, visco and other exotic foam layers.”

The ComfortTop can be combined and customized with a choice of middle mattress in three separate firmnesses so the retailer and customer can have a range of comfort feels using the same base,” said Kluft.  “Many times a retailer gets returns because one partner complains about comfort, even though there is nothing defective about the mattress.  With this new concept mattress couples will not have to compromise, and if they decide later they prefer a different comfort experience, they can return and exchange just the top or one side of the middle mattress. The retailer will be able to accommodate them without a full return.”

Besides addressing comfort exchanges, the A 3 addresses other practical concerns for retailers, such as showroom space.

“The footprint on the showroom floor is economized, as tops can be stored and exchanged easily from a store room,” said Kluft.

Kluft is so confident in the A 3’s superiority to existing technology and design that his limited warranty will insure the mattress against body impressions of over three quarters of an inch; a more customer friendly standard than the 1.5-inch standard of most manufacturer warranties.

Currently available in an assortment of colors and designer fabrics and legs, the modular foundation frame is built with sustainable forest lumber, and all fabrics are Forestex or Oeko-Tex certified.  Kluft will also offer motorized adjustable frames as part of this introduction.

Pricing for the A 3 Series will start at under $3,000.
