Italy’s largest mattress brand, Magniflex, announced it has recently expanded to several key markets, putting the brand in over 100 doors throughout North America.

In recent months Magniflex USA formed strong relationships with retail partners in key markets including two in California, Pomp Home in Culver City and GetAMattress.com in Arroyo Grande; The Sleep Shop in Reno, Nevada; and Two Danes in Nashville, Tennessee.  In addition, Magniflex Canada expanded to retailers in three provinces including: Germain Lariviere in Laval and Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec; Calligaris in Toronto, Ontario; and Casa Decor in Kamloops, B.C.

“The U.S. and Canada continue to be important markets for us, and despite the rising supply costs many in our industry are facing, we have maintained consistent pricing on our premium mattresses and pillows, which has helped to set us apart,” said Magniflex Global Sales Director Marco Magni. “The growth also comes from retailers who have easily introduced Magniflex to their floors. With a minimal investment, they can begin a program selling handcrafted Italian mattresses priced from $1,099.  When they are ready, they can add a higher end model or expand further through the new Magniflex Shop-in-Shop.”

To support its expanding dealer network, the company is promoting the Magniflex Shop-in-Shop, a comprehensive and customizable merchandising program.   Available in three different sizes, it can be tailored to accommodate a range of retail scenarios. The program delivers a stylish, customizable collection of mattresses, pillows, accessories, display racks, wall art, carpets and other POP materials.  The art portrays images of the Italian countryside while  emphasizing health and the use of nature-derived ingredients featured in Magniflex bedding.

“We fashioned the merchandising program after models we have successfully placed in Europe and Asia. From startup to Shop-in-Shop, all our programs remain flexible to accommodate retailers’ individual needs,” said Magni.

Magniflex will present the program at the Spring 2011 High Point Market, among their latest collections.  Of note is the Linen Experience collection (from $1,999), which will make its High Point debut.  It features an exclusive organic linen fabric certified by the Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS) and Oeko Tex. Its seven-zone checkered support core allows two consumers with different heights or weights to sleep comfortably on the same mattress.

Due to increased retailer interest in the line, the company will make the Linen Experience mattress available via Quick Ship, the company’s 5-day drop ship program.

“We designed our Quick Ship program to accommodate both our U.S. and Canadian customers with the same delivery time and great, low rates. Our Quick Ship continues to expand to include a wide range of top-performing models and accessories, which makes it easy for retailers to grow with us,” said Magni.

A selection of over 20 products is now offered via Quick Ship, allowing retailers to guarantee five-day delivery time directly to consumers’ homes for one low, flat rate -- $45 for a queen mattress to the 48 contiguous U.S. states and to Canada.

Magniflex holds the original patent on the vacuum-packing system that shrinks and rolls the mattress to a tenth of its size, enabling one-person delivery and setup.  Besides saving money during the shipping process, vacuum-packing significantly lowers the product’s overall carbon footprint.   Magniflex was also the first company to have its mattresses certified by Oeko-Tex to guarantee absence of allergenic substances harmful to consumers and to the environment.
