Designer Raymond Waites and GuildMaster announced that they have joined forces in creating a major new collection of furniture, accent items, seating, lighting and accessories set to debut during the April High Point Market. “New America, Coming Home” reflects Waites modernized translation of our nation’s traditional roots in over 200 items designed for the way we live today.

Waites commented, “Over time, we have lost touch with our roots as a nation. This fresh and unique concept is designed to re-enforce our connection of what it means to be American. The ageless character and contemporary spirit of this collection will help re-seed and re-plant our patriot passion…re-vive and re-live our pride and heritage.”

Waites developed the collection with GuildMaster, award-winning maker of distinctively styled, handcrafted quality pieces produced at their company-owned factory. Each item is fashioned from solid mahogany which is replenished with a tree replanting program. Company sales have increased 100% (or dramatically) in the last four years and GuildMaster designs are perennial nominees for the Art Award. The GuildMaster showroom is located on the first floor of the C&D Building in High Point, NC and they also show in Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas.

GuildMaster CEO/President, Steve Crowder, commented “We are pleased to partner with Raymond Waites in the development of this extraordinary new collection that reflects the integrity of our forebears and the honesty of today’s generations.”
Waites created four inspirations in “New America, Coming Home,” to complement diverse ages and lifestyles…whether young urban professionals, suburban families, second home owners or empty nesters.

American Tradition…captures European roots in weathered aged finishes on 20 classic pieces. Traditional elements are translated in new ways to highlight function in such ideas as shoe and sweater chests, hidden drawers for family treasures…an oversized chest on chest with four layered American Blue finish.  Each piece becomes a special accent…or complements other prized heirlooms in town or country settings.

American Vintage…reflects a natural color palette in hand-wrought layers of white, cream, limestone and linen in 25 pieces. Tea stained washed upholstery fabrics with stars and stripes appliquéd in tone-on-tone naturals…a new technique in the industry. Featured are heritage chair styles…Hickok, Martha Washington, and ladder backs in eight color palettes…bright ideas for city brownstone or beach condo.
American Lodge…captures the colors of river rock in distressed crackle and burnished wood finishes with hand-painted mustard accents. Pieces include pull-out kitchen islands, wine storage, dining lodge tables that expand to seat 12 or even 14 with the “sweetheart” folk chair in red crackle or distressed lime. Homage is paid to the timeless country harvest table translated in various sizes, finishes and with an array of drawers…ideal for casual family living, downsizing retirees or mountain getaways.

American Garden…is inspired by Chippendale lattice fences and fret motifs found in early private gardens and arboretums of prospering Americans. A key theme is the Palladian style of Monticello, adapted by Thomas Jefferson after his years as ambassador to the French Court. The stately forms, balance and classical details were interpreted in Jeffersonian architecture that graces universities and government buildings to this day…and will enhance the interiors of today’s Americans, wherever and however they live.

Raymond Waites, noted award winning designer and industry trend setter, said “New America, Coming Home is a way consumers can re-connect to the heritage and values that made this country great…a new way to create living environments that embody what it means to be an American in the 21st century.”
