Christopher Guy, internationally renowned designer and purveyor of the “World’s Most Fabulous Decorative Furnishings,” will accept the prestigious 2011 Design Icon Award at the Winter Las Vegas Market, January 24-28, 2011. The Design Icon Award celebrates modern-day design legends and provides them a platform to share their stories and inspire others. Guy joins the ranks of past “Design Icon” honorees, including Juan Montoya, Vicente Wolf, Roger Thomas, Vladimir Kagan and Larry Laslo.
“It is a tremendous honor to be receiving such a prominent award, and a tribute to the 1,400 craftsmen at Christopher Guy who resolutely recreate my designs with their skill and passion, and who ultimately brought it to the attention of such a prestigious panel,” says Guy.
Guy will share his story and design outlook on Thursday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. in Building C, Suite C176. An awards reception will follow in the Christopher Guy showroom at Robert Allen | Beacon Hill, C101. The presentation will include Guy’s journey, which spans from his beginnings in Europe, to the creation of the global Christopher Guy brand and lastly, his aspirations for the future. He will share what shaped his personal design philosophy, for which his work is known for today and what inspired him to create the unique and signature designs in his collection. Guy will also give us an insight into the vision for developing each of his collections and his successful international marketing strategy.

Signature Christopher Guy furnishings will be featured at the Robert Allen | Beacon Hill showroom, on the ground floor of Building C in The World Market Center. The Christopher Guy flagship color, a strong and rich carnelian red, will be displayed throughout the entire space in an effort to create a visual trail for the guests to follow. Each section of the space will showcase pieces with classical detailing yet contemporary mood and innovative design. The entrance lobby to the showroom will exhibit pieces from the Christopher Guy occasional furniture collection and will lead to a larger showroom area, displaying various pieces from the lounge, dining and bedroom collections. The walls of the showroom will display the extensive and world famous Christopher Guy mirror collection, including the new oversized mirrors measuring over 8 feet. The year 2011 will bring significant expansion into Christopher Guy’s accessory and home accents presentation and the current selections are a sneak preview.
