Haverty Furniture Reports 4th Quarter Same Store Sales Increase

Haverty Furniture Cos. reported that fourth-quarter revenue in its stores open at least a year rose 1.9 percent.

Total sales for the quarter that ended Dec. 31 edged down 0.2 percent to $162.1 million from $162.4 million last year. Haverty Furniture is a home furnishings retailer with 119 showrooms in 17 Southern, Eastern and Midwestern states.

Revenue at stores open at least a year is a key gauge of a retailer's health because it excludes stores that open or close during the year.

For the fiscal year so far, revenue in stores open at least a year rose 7 percent and total revenue rose 5.5 percent to $620.3 million.
