aspenhome announced that it has entered a new bedroom category with the introduction of “the Other bedrooms,” ä

“Tween,” the company says, is the state of flux that kids go through from the ages of 9 to 13 where they are no longer little kids but not quite the teen. They are developing mind and sense of self, becoming confident, savvy and high-tech followers of pop culture and social networking along with having enormous spending power. Their tastes are changing as well. They are ready to leave their childhood bedrooms behind and want something with more grown-up style and sophistication. Responding to this need, “the Other bedrooms,” ä aspenhome’s new bedroom category, offers Tweenager furniture that’s “off the chain” (Tween talk for awesome).

“The tween years can be difficult ones for both the kids and their parents,” stated Jena Hall, EVP of Bedroom and Merchandising for aspenhome. “Redoing the bedroom to a more grown up look helps kids ‘find themselves’ while establishing a new level of communication between child and parent. These trend followers want their bedrooms to reflect Disney Channel Celebs but need to be a comfortable and secure place where their minds can expand and their emotions mature. aspenhome has scaled down five of their best selling bedroom collections as well as their new Cross Country Collection to fit comfortably into smaller space tween bedrooms. The high-tech Tweens will love the ah-factors for when they “chillax”.

The Pinnacle Award winning Young Classics is now available in a lighter airy eggshell finish in addition to its original darker option.  Other styles include Chateau de Vin Cherry, Cambridge in eggshell white and Cherry, Origin, Centennial Oak, and the new Mango Cross Country collections all with new twin and full-sized beds with optional storage drawers in the footboards. The collections also include many clever storage pieces ideal for smaller rooms as well as their matching master bedroom sized beds and case pieces.

“We see this as an opportunity to explore a new market segment,” commented Dave Heard aspenhome’s executive vice president of sales. "As aspenhome’s ‘The Other Bedrooms’ concept addresses the needs of this younger generation, it will also introduce them to our innovative products and will establish the beginning of a life long relationship between this new generation and aspenhome.”

Plus, to help retailers connect with the Tween customer, aspenhome has integrated merchandising and marketing materials which will provide them an easy ‘how to’ road map for establishing an instant other bedroom concept for Tweens on their retail floors.
