Furniture First Board Authorized Charitable Donations In Employees’ Names

Furniture First recently announced that during an in-person meeting last month, the Furniture First Board of Directors authorized charitable contributions in the name of each employee. Each employee chose a charity to receive $1000 in their name. The selected charities included

  • Wounded Warrior Project
  • Make-A-Wish
  • Direct Relief
  • Central PA Food Bank
  • Elton John AIDS Foundation
  • Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
  • Noah’s Legacy Fund
  • Scholarship America
  • Gary Sinise Foundation
  • Children’s Miracle Network - Penn State Children’s Hospital
  • Doctors Without Borders, USA

“Some staff members have charities that they care deeply about. They are using the donations to supplement their regular personal contributions to these charities,” said Andrew Kauffman, CEO of Furniture First. “Other staff members are dedicating the funds to groups that they have not donated to in the past. This gives them the opportunity to contribute to causes that don’t fit into their regular giving plans. The board thought this was a wonderful way to help our staff have a positive impact on our community and society as a whole.”

In addition to the end of year charitable donations, Furniture First is a Platinum sponsor for the Ante 4 Autism annual poker tournament at the Las Vegas Market. Several members and part of the buying group’s staff will participate in the tournament as players.

Furniture First will move to a new showroom at the upcoming Las Vegas market. The ribbon cutting for their space in building B, B-530, will take place at 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 26th. The showroom will feature the group’s new lineup of their private label mattress line, Mattress 1st, as well as select merchandise form several supplier partners.
