La-Z-Boy Casegoods Promotes Peter Blackwell to VP Sales-Eastern Region

La-Z-Boy Casegoods reports that it has promoted Peter Blackwell to vice president of sales - Eastern Region. In his new role, Blackwell will lead the sales efforts for the company’s three portfolio brands – American Drew, Hammary and Kincaid.
Blackwell joined the company in 2009 as district sales manager with a focus on the company’s Kincaid Furniture brand in the Tennessee territory. He won numerous performance awards and worked closely with marketing, promotions and customer service for effective customer communications. He grew his responsibilities to include Kincaid’s sister brands, American Drew and Hammary and most recently has been involved with product development and sales training for new representatives.
“Peter has the respect and admiration of both his peers and his customers, an excellent command of our product lines and a great understanding of our vision for the future,” said Drew Sweeney, vice president - sales and marketing.
Blackwell holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with post-graduate studies at the University of Mississippi. He began his career in the furniture industry at Broyhill Furniture Industries in 2005 as an associate sales representative in the North Carolina/Virginia territory and soon moved into a sales position for the eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina soon after.
