Phillips Collection, Palecek To Join Interior Home + Design Center

Furniture World News Desk on 1/16/2017

Dallas Market Center recently announced that two home décor manufacturers, Phillips Collection and Palecek, will create custom showrooms inside the Interior Home + Design Center, a new 220,000 square foot marketplace serving interior designers and retailers. The project, redeveloping the first floor of the mid-century International Trade Plaza building, represents the largest expansion of luxury home décor showrooms in Dallas in over forty years. Phillips Collection and Palecek will design new showroom spaces for their luxury product collections and will serve as a destination for both retailers and interior designers. The Interior Home + Design Center will open in 2017.

Previously announced exhibitors include Taylor’s On Ten, a leading agency of luxury lighting and home décor; Visual Comfort; Ralph Lauren Home; Bliss Studio; Dessau Home; Emissary; In2green; Shadow Catchers; Ambella Home Collection; ZUO; Ratana Casual Furnishings; Lawrence & Crane; Wish Designs; Spicher & Company; Ashore; and Botanical Mix.

“The Palecek team is happy to be a part of an exciting new venue--the Interior Home + Design Center,” said Allan Palecek, founder and CEO of Palecek. “We are excited to be able to create a new showroom space that will better showcase our furniture and accessories and capabilities to the interior design community. Our new space will be larger, have better access, and be visually more appealing. We are happy to join other top name companies in this project.”

“We look forward to creating a new showroom in Dallas serving a tremendous design business,” said Mark Phillips, CEO of Phillips Collection. “Reaching qualified customers year-round is more important than ever, so we are pleased to be able to present our unique collections inside a dynamic new space.”

Combined, these companies represent a significant percentage of the total square footage in a building that will serve an existing customer base of more than 200,000 retail buyers and interior designers as well as attract new customers.

“Palecek and Phillips Collection are well respected for their stylish products, high design showrooms, and excellent customer service,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “The addition of these two important companies continues our marketplace momentum of setting a new standard in sophisticated building re-design and business innovation by creating a destination with ground floor, controlled access showrooms for the design community. Each month more than 2000 interior designers visit our campus, and this significant investment in new space for luxury home showrooms will help build even greater traffic to the entire Dallas marketplace.”

The Interior Home + Design Center is the centerpiece of a long-range strategic initiative to provide enhanced value to manufacturers by serving market-time attendees as well as the growing number of customers conducting business at Dallas Market Center each week. Design showrooms across the 5 million square foot campus, which also includes the Trade Mart and World Trade Center, currently serve a discerning design community actively seeking new resources for residential and commercial projects across the Central US and Latin America. In addition, Dallas Market Center hosts a full calendar of design
events throughout the year in partnership with organizations including ASID (American Society of Interior Design), TAID (Texas Association of Interior Design), and the Interior Design Society, which held their national conference at Dallas Market Center in April 2016. For 2017, Dallas Market Center will host 20 design events.

Originally opened in 1957 as the first building on the Dallas Market Center campus, the current International Trade Plaza will emerge anew as the re-imagined Interior Home + Design Center after a multi-million dollar renovation. While staying true to the building’s mid-century design, the updated space will feature a curated collection of state-of-the-art, open-daily showrooms from leading home décor companies serving an active interior design community as well as the seasonal markets drawing tens of thousands of loyal retailers from all 50 states and around the world. The transformed building will offer showrooms with individual exterior entrances, large exterior windows allowing in natural light, and hundreds of front-row parking spaces and valet service—all completely focused on the needs of time-sensitive interior designers and their discerning clientele.
