Vanguard's Thom Filicia Campaigns to "Make America Beautiful Again"

Furniture World News Desk on 10/19/2016

Vanguard Furniture recently announced that at the October 2016 High Point Furniture Market, Thom Filicia, their proclaimed next Designer-In-Chief, will be adding stylish yet timeless new pieces to his furniture collection with Vanguard.

Thom has officially thrown his hat into the presidential ring, declaring himself a candidate for POTUS. His platform takes a hard look at Americans living in “home fashion poverty” and he pledges to “Make America Beautiful Again, one room at a time.” He believes in the American quilt accepting all nationalities, races and genders, and wants to be the “tailor that stiches a divided America back together.” He proclaims “the only people I will politely ask to leave this country are those with bad taste.”

On Friday, October 21, at 4:30PM he will be holding a short press conference in the Vanguard showroom, following which you will have an opportunity for a photo op while enjoying red, white and blue cocktails or sipping Prosecco. On Monday, October 24th at 2:30PM he will be leading an 80 piece marching band on a parade from the Vanguard showroom to the Eastern Accents showroom where his Thom Filicia Home Collection bedding line is shown.

While his campaign is tongue in cheek, his message is real. Thom firmly believes that “every American deserves to live in style,” and with the introduction of stylish and timeless casegoods and upholstery pieces to his collection this market, there is no reason to live with uninspiring furniture ever again.

Andy Bray, Vanguard’s President, said, “Thom adds another dimension to our showroom.  His ebullient spirit and approachable demeanor makes people feel like they have known him for years.  He has a wide fan following from the roles he played on television and the books he has authored, but his dedication to furniture design speaks for itself as his furniture collection is truly magnificent. If his name were actually on the ballot, he would probably get my vote.”

Filicia says his Home Collection was born from his “desire to create home furnishings that are exceptional, accessible and designed for the way we live today. The Collection captures classic simplicity, while introducing a unique modern flair that is both timely and timeless. It combines style and taste with today's desire for comfort, simplicity, efficiency and innovation. The result is a unique look where refined details mix with raw materials, industrial elements play against organic features, and colors, textures and patterns are used in innovative ways to create a collection with a sophisticated and authentic point of view.”
