The American Society of Furniture Designers Board of Directors announced the winner of the ASFD 2015 Touching Lives by Design Merit Scholarship last night in High Point, NC at it’s annual Spring Event.

The recipient of this year’s scholarship is David Riley, a sophomore at Rhode Island School of Design. An honor roll student in both his freshman and sophomore year at RISD, David will receive the $2,500 scholarship in support of his continued study in furniture design.

Created to reward college students majoring in furniture design who have achieved academic excellence in the classroom, the scholarship continues the association’s mission to support, motivate and inspire the designers of tomorrow through mentorship and scholarship programs.

Richard Schroeder, ASFD President, said, “David was the unanimous selection by the scholarship committee from an impressive group of candidates. We are pleased to award this scholarship to him and look forward to following his future successes in our industry”.

The ASFD touching lives by design Merit Scholarship will be awarded at the association’s annual spring event during the April High Point Market.
