Specialized Furniture Carriers Elect New Officers

The Specialized Furniture Carriers, a division of the American Home Furnishings Alliance since 2009, elected new officers at its biannual Board of Directors meeting this week.

Joe Wade of Shelba D. Johnson Trucking, High Point, will serve as president for 2015-2016. The Executive Committee includes Aimee Boozer, Sun Delivery, Thomasville, first vice president; and Mark Fierek, Orion Air Ride, Mendota Heights, Minn., second vice president.

Patrick Cory, Cory 1st Choice Home Delivery, Secaucus, N.J., continues as chairman.

Directors with terms expiring at the end of 2015 are Bill Smith, Globe Express Services, Charlotte; and Marcus Cary, Wiseway Transportation Services, Hudson, Wisc.

Directors with terms expiring at the end of 2016 are Sue Collitz, Western Logistics Inc., Coquitlam, BC, Canada; and Sam Houser, Houser Transport Inc., Vale, N.C.

Directors with terms expiring at the end of 2017 are Freddie Davis, Global Shippers Association, Lenoir, N.C.; and Michael Sharpe, Cargo Consolidation Services Inc., Claremont, N.C.

The Specialized Furniture Carriers division serves niche carriers dedicated to the transportation and delivery of residential furnishings. The Board of Directors meets during the High Point Market in April and October. More information is available at www.furniture-carriers.org.
