Last Mile Home Opens Distribution Center in Chicagoland

Last Mile Home, a member of the Manna Freight Systems family of brands, announced that it is opening up nearly 100,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Wood Dale, IL in December.

Last Mile Home will be servicing and staffing the warehouse operation and providing furniture  inspection, deluxing, and repair prior to delivery to consumers’ homes. “Our driver teams will be  equipped with tablet technology powered by DispatchTrack,” said General Manager Brian Tennant,  “which gives customers and consumers visibility into the final delivery time so they can manage their  days more easily around the final delivery.”

Business Development Specialist Denny McGrath says that the warehouse, which will be operational by December 15, will be serviced by 10-14 drivers making 150 home deliveries daily for its high end furniture clients. The company will initially employ 12 warehouse associates and as many as 25 in 2015.

“The warehouse is centrally located just west of O’Hare International Airport to service consumers  efficiently throughout Chicagoland,” McGrath said.
